Top 6 Altcoins To Buy In 2018 The number one question I am asked is ‘what crypto should I buy?’ This is a great question but the answer is different from person to person. There are many factors to consider like the longevity of the trade, risk aversion, and strategy of the trade. When I am ready to make a trade, my main goal is not to outperform USD, but to outperform Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). If my trade won’t do that, then what is the point buying anything else?

With this article, my goal is to reveal my 6 picks for going into 2018 and what the long and short term prospects are for the coin. Another factor for coins making it on this list is they need to be close to having a workable and usable project.

This isn’t a list of top 6 ICO’s or coins that will pay off by 2019 but of projects ready in 2018. As a disclaimer, I am heavily invested in each of these coins. My strategy for all of the following altcoins is long term gains and not short term flips. #1 Ethereum I know, big shock here. Ethereum is the grand-daddy of the altcoins. Why is it my number 1 pick, because 2017 was nothing compared to what is in store for 2018. The last few weeks of 2017 saw the first major dapp on Ethereum called cryptokitties.

Zclassic Coin

While it wasn’t what people had hoped for the first breakout dapp, it is the first of many coming down the line. Edgeless was just licensed for the first Ethereum based casino.

FunFair, Auger, EtherRisc, and BAT are also getting ready to launch their dapps in 2018. In fact there are literally thousands of dapps coming in 2018. Remember all those ICO’s you invested in this passed summer? Most of those are creating dapps using Ethereum smart contracts. Fibonacci even shows Ethereum reaching $3,500 USD by the end of 2018, a 500% increase in price. Short term, Ethereum may give up some of its recent gains but long term is all growth. Buy at: #2 SUMOkoin Like AEON, SUMO is a fork of Monero.

SUMO has set out from the begining to implement Ring Confidential Transactions (RingCT) setting minimum transaction mixins to 12 that would make it high resistance to blockchain analysis attacks. Sumokoin is one of a few rare cryptocurrencies with true fungibility — the feature makes digital currency act like physical cash i.e.

No other people can find where the money comes from and how many have been transferred. They already have a GUI wallet, litewallet, sub-addresses among other things that make this coin ready to go. The devs have done an excellent job delivering everything on time too. Look for further inclusion on exchanges for price spikes and official iOS/Android wallets. SUMO is POW and can easily be mined with a GPU using easyminer. Short and long term outlook is great. Buy at: #3 PIVX A DASH fork, PIV has risen rather quickly to prominence.

To a certain degree, ZClassic (ZCL). In the case of Bitcoin Gold, changes were made so that mining could become a more inclusive process. Apr 8, 2017 - I mine Zclassic right now because of the Zen launch that is coming up, but that's a different story. You probably want to get yourself a Zcash wallet or a Zcash deposit address on Poloniex or a hardware wallet and mine to that wallet address on Flypool or a similar mining pool. You can do the same thing with.

Recently the dev team added the inclusion of Zerocoin making a more private zPIV coin. PIVX also provides instant transactions through the SwiftTX implementation. The community is governing the future for this currency, rather than leaving it up to just the developers. The coin is mineable through staking so many of the coins are locked up in wallets and masternodes. PIVX will have both long term and short term price increases. Currently it is the same price that DASH was last year so any height is possible for PIVX.

Buy at: #4 SONM With its alpha release at the end of 2017, SONM has gone from a ICO to crypto gold in less than a year. SONM sets out to pool together users cpu’s to create a virtual super computer that institutions, companies and other users can lease out. While it will compete with XEL, Golem, and IEXEC for market share, SONM is poised to overtake Golem in 2018 on the super computer stage. Not only does SONM have a great team over developers behind it (so does Golem) but they also have a wider range of uses and applications at launch. SONM already has SaaS (Software as a Service) support, site hosting, game servers, nodejs and many other applications ready.

SONM looks good both short and long term. Buy at: #5 NULS NULS is a customizable blockchain that will allow other companies to plugin a module and essentially create their own blockchain or sidechain on top of NULS. The project goes to Testnet in March 2018. The NULS coin is already picking up steam as word spreads about the project.

Both a good investment for short and long term investors. Buy at: #6 CARDANO Cardano is developing a smart contract platform which seeks to deliver more advanced features than any protocol previously developed. It is the first blockchain platform to evolve out of a scientific philosophy and a research-first driven approach.

The development team consists of a large global collective of expert engineers and researchers. The project is still in the early stages but rapidly moving forward with wallets and dPOS on the near horizon.

Short term most likely a pullback from the recent gains. Currently the ADA coin is situated in the top 10 coins by market cap which it is too early for these levels.

This goes to show the level of support and community anticipation behind the project from the early stages but still driven by a bit of hype at this early stage. Tagged Post navigation. SmartCash SMART Minng.

Mogo Finance Is Building a B.C. Based Bitcoin Mine With DMG Blockchain Solutions The fintech firm Mogo Finance Technology believes that cryptocurrencies are the future and the company’s latest venture will enter the world of bitcoin mining. Mogo Blockchain has created an alliance with the Vancouver-based company DMG, as the two firms have plans on opening a new mining operation in British Columbia. The facility will focus on bitcoin mining, hosting (mining as a service (MaaS), and blockchain platform development.

Mogo says the firm will begin by leasing 1,000 bitcoin mining rigs and expects the facility to be fully operational by the end of this quarter. “We’re excited to work with DMG given their extensive mining experience and attractive mining as a service model,” explains Greg Feller, CEO of Mogo Blockchain. “We believe that gaining exposure to mining cryptocurrency such as bitcoin is an important part of building our competency around blockchain.” In addition, this mining venture will enable us to generate our own supply of ‘freshly minted’ bitcoin for our Mogo members once we introduce ‘Mogo Crypto’ later this quarter. The Launch of the Mine and ‘Mogo Crypto’ Aims to Make Cryptocurrencies More Accessible to Canadian Citizens Mining rigs will be maintained by DMG using the firm’s MaaS model. Mogo explains the new facility is just the beginning as the Mogo Crypto launch is expected to allow Canadians to easily buy and sell bitcoin through their Mogo account. DMG explains that its alliance with a well-established fintech company such as Mogo will create more cryptocurrency accessibility for Canadian citizens.

“Mogo is well positioned to make cryptocurrencies accessible to more Canadians,” Dan Reitzik, CEO of DMG emphasizes. Additionally, Reitzik spoke with news.Bitcoin.com about how the firm initiated its mining operations located in Canada. “In early 2016, DMG decided to explore industrial scale bitcoin mining in Canada — As industrial-scale crypto-mining is a very complicated endeavor, DMG brought on Sheldon Bennett as a partner to provide his expertise,” Reitzik explains.
