Hi everyone, I am just getting back into mining and figured I'd test on my regular home PC running windows 7. I had an old R9 280x and am getting ~13 MH/s with a stock Claymore setup. I saw that the RX 480's get mid 20's and use less power, so I sprung for a ASUS rx480 8gb model. I was only able to get about 14.5 MH/s with the new rx 480.

Something was obviously wrong. I tried multiple drivers but no luck. Attached are screenshots BEFORE I blew the poor thing up with a bad bios file. Wondering if anyone can spot what I was doing wrong (before the obvious bios snafu), and also if someone could toss me some breadcrumbs for some safe but more effective bios settings. I suppose in hindsight I should have left the bios alone since 14.5 MH/s was likely a hardware or driver issue. I'll bootstrap-slap the old bios back into the card if I can, which will take a bit so no rush!

I used to mine a few litecoins back in 2014. I recall you needed the SDK and had to properly init the miner using that environment. I couldn't find any reference to this in the FAQs, so is this still a thing? Thanks in advance! Hi All Worry about the recent volatility, just invested in a bunch of hardware, sell or keep mining? -with BTC price drop and ETH following -POS, end of year? Or go hyprid?

What does it mean for miner? -DAG size, My 3gb card last till late 2017? Basically I bought my first rig with 6x gtx1060 3gb mining a week ago, cant find any ati cards (man took me few days with setting up Win10, latest nvidia drivers caused my issues) getting about 113mhs stock, 138mhs when oc. Running stock about speed for few days already stable, my initial ROI spreadsheet calculated value from cryptocompare.com, ROI was about 3 months, a week later its 4.5months was mining for about for about a week now, at the beginning it was great eth price keeps going up, things looks promising so i went and just bought 3-4 more rigs 1060 6gb version, all parts still in box, not install yet, panicking now, not sure if i should dump the hardware, or keep mining. Things i realized in the pass 2 days 1) now im worry coz of recent volatility of bitcoin and eth 2) actual hashrate is always lower then reported hashrate, need to take away another 10% or so.

Use average effective hashrate to do your projections 3) difficulty is always going increase, currently at an exponential rate, which effects mining, i knew this would be the case, but just didnt fully understand how bad it is. Only fully reliased the above issues investing more in my 3-4 rigs and i miss calculated my first initial rig ROI, as the difficulty calculated using websites uses a constant value over the last 24h to project to next month/year which i found out that is not the case, i been tracking my eth mined per month return it getting lower every day. This is not a problem if eth price keeps rising -_.

Ive just put 1 of my rigs up on offer to sell, i got plenty of people interested. What should i do? I still very new and trying to read as much as possible. I probably keep at least 1 rig for my self.

Maybe sell of the rest. How is the difficulty calculated? Initually the website calculated my return of 2.3 eth per month a week later its now 1.6-1.8, thats a huge drop, plus the price of eth droping, thats why im worry now. For all those eager people that want to buy up all my rigs, am i missing something or are they?

Worse case scenario my first rig few 6-12 months I can mine 1 ETH per month? And the price per eth is 200, i just covering my power cost if 6-12 months, and my single rig can mine 1 ETH / month?, the price needs to be 800 to be same as my initial roi estimate rate of about 32% per month. Or will it go to 1000-2000 dollars per ETH, close to BTC as some speculated. Still reading up on this POS thing too. But if someone can point to some good sources on POS and difficulty that would be great appreciate the time reading my post similar topics i read so far.

Hi guys, some noob questions arrived! So i got my GTX 1060 6GB on windows 10 and it shows 20-24MH/s but i wonder if i even mine it right.

So what am i doing for mining- I start one cmd window with 'Eth geth --rpc', second cmd window with 'Eth miner ethminer -U' and my Ethereum Wallet. It has been mining for couple days but not even 0.01 was added. I doubt that i mine it into my wallet (because i havent mentioned it anywhere in ethminer, unlike in case of some pool mining), is that possible? Here some screenshots. We are mining 5 machines through ethermine.org and everything has been going smooth. Last night all pc's were up and running and producing their average hashrate on our computer screens, but on ethermine.org they were reporting 1-7mh/s. We attempted to reset all pc's to no avail and decided to let them keep running.

We woke up this morning and exactly three hours after they went down on ethermine, our current hashrate shot back up to where it is suppose to be. I know for a fact that the mining rigs were doing their job, but there is a 3 hour window in which we mined, but recorded no ETH.

Patched Pixel. Fired MSI Afterburner to overclock the GPU RAM to 2000MHz. I can verify the ram frequency has jumped to 20000Mhz in GPU-Z and Afterburner.

However the Claymore Dual Miner hashrate didn't increase, it dropped to 19Mh/s. Close Afterburner and using parameters to tell Claymore miner to overclock the ram instead, same.

Suspect that I might have edited the wrong timing sets. So I open the original backup bios, copied timing from the sets 1:1500 to 1:1625 1:1750 1:2000 and 2:1500 to 2:1625 2:1750 2:2000 Now the timing looks like this: Manufacturer:MSI Model:RX 570 Device Id:1002 67DF Subsystem Id:1462 341A Interface:PCI-E Memory Size:4096 MB GPU Clock:1268 MHz Memory Clock:1750 MHz Memory Type:GDDR5 VBIOS Version:015.
